Stunner! Aaron Rodgers Announces His Engagement
The NFL world wasn’t exactly dripping in suspense when it came to awarding this year’s MVP. It would be Aaron Rodgers after an almost flawless season in which he threw 48 touchdowns and only five interceptions. But what happened after Kevin Hart announced Rodgers’s name at the NFL Honors and the 37-year-old quarterback started his virtual acceptance speech became the most talked about moment of the night.
Rodgers said an obligatory thank you, then continued with quite the acceptance speech.
2020 was definitely a crazy year, filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing, memorable moments. 180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped. … I got engaged. And I played some of the best football in my career.
Wait, did he just say, ” I got engaged?” was the universal reaction, everyone wondering if they had missed some important sliver of pop culture. Nope. Rodgers nonchalantly slipped in a “my fiancé” as the speech continued. That’s as good a confirmation as any.

The presumption is that Rodgers is engaged to girlfriend Shailene Woodley, a talented actress known for Big Little Lies. News of their relationship broke just this week, even though they reportedly have been dating long distance for months.
Rodgers dated actress Olivia Munn for three years until their beak up in 2017. He most recently dated racer driver/former Go Daddy spokeswoman Danica Patrick. The two broke up in August.
Perhaps the most shocking and refreshing aspect of this news is that Rodgers and Woodley have been able to fully control the narrative of their relationship. Congrats to the happy couple.
