Patriots safety Patrick Chung indicted for cocaine possession

Patrick Chung, a longtime member of the Patriots secondary, was indicted Thursday by the grand jury in Belknap County, New Hampshire on charges of cocaine possession. The alleged incident took place on June 25th in Chung’s home in Meredith, New Hampshire.

Possessing cocaine is a Class B felony and carries a potential prison term of up to seven years and a fine of up to $2,000.

Chung’s arraignment is schedule for August 28th.

“We are aware of the reports regarding Patrick Chung,” the Patriots said in a statement. “We will not be commenting while his judicial proceedings take place.”

Chung was drafted in the second round of the 2009 Draft by New England and has mostly been a staple of their defense ever since. The only exception is 2013 when Chung played for the Eagles. Chung resigned with the Patriots in 2014 and was given a one-year extension this offseason after being a team captain in 2018.
