It’s Official: Kyler Murray All In On The NFL
We finally have answers from Kyler Murray as the Heisman-winning quarterback announced just before 1 p.m. Monday that he is committed to pursuing his future with the NFL. In his post, Murray says, ” I am firmly and fully committing my life to becoming an NFL quarterback.”
The projected first-round pick goes on to say “football has been my love and passion for my entire life.” He then writes about the work he’s putting in before the combine saying, “I have started an extensive training program,” and is willing to quiet the naysayers adding, “I eagerly await… to prove… I am a franchise QB.”

There were many predictors of Murray’s choice to go all in, but it might have been former Sooner QB, and fellow Heisman-winner Bake Mayfield who’s success convinced Murray that his chances in the League would be better than his chances in the MLB. Murray would be a shorter QB with his listed height at just 5’11”, but with Murray’s ability to scramble his height might not worry NFL teams.
There were lingering questions for Murray who was drafted as the ninth overall pick by the Oakland A’s. The A’s spring training report date is February 14th, and with Murray’s announcement, the A’s front office can be sure he won’t be reporting on that date and instead focus his full efforts on the scouting combine, which is just 15 days away. Murray turns away from a reported $5 million signing bonus to pursue his NFL dreams.
