Drew Brees is Celebrated After Breaking the All-Time Passing Yards Record
Drew Brees broke the NFL’s all-time passing yard record in spectacular fashion. In front of the home crowd at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Monday Night Football, the 39-year old Saints QB broke Peyton Manning’s record of 71,940 career passing yards in the second quarter with a 62-yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Tre’Quan Smith. Brees celebrated with his teammates before making his way to the sidelines to see his family.
Brees, then continued to have one of the best games of his 18-year career. In the Saints 43-19 win over the Washington Redskins, Brees completed 26 of 29 passes for 363 yards and three touchdowns. His completion percentage of 89.7 was a career best.
Athletes, comedians and former presidents all took to Twitter to honor Brees for his accomplishment.
Congratulations to Drew Brees on the all time passing record. Always a class act.
