Seahawks’ Doug Baldwin offers action steps and powerful history lesson on CNN town hall

Last night CNN and Anderson Cooper hosted a special town hall: Patriotism, the Players and the President. Several strong societal voices were guests including Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins, Spike Lee, former Green Beret/NFL player Nate Boyer and many more. Questions came from a variety of audience members ranging from those who had experienced racial profiling to the parents of fallen soldiers.

Much of the conversation focused on the appropriateness of protesting during the anthem. But a couple of segments, one from Jenkins and this from Doug Baldwin (alongside teammate Michael Bennett) actually discuss the genesis for the protests and what specifically is needed to start combating racial inequality.
