Dez Bryant signing with the New Orleans Saints

After working out with the Saints, Dez Bryant will sign a one-year deal with the team according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. It’s a good time for Bryant to join the Saints who are 7-1, atop their division, and just took down the previously undefeated Rams this past weekend. The Saints pick up a more consistent number two receiver to add to their already stout offensive juggernaut of Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, and Mark Ingram.

Bryant has been seeking a new team since April when the Cowboys released the wide receiver from his contract after eight seasons. At 29 it seemed Bryant’s performances weren’t living up to Dallas’ expectations as injuries and inconsistency became more commonplace in Dallas.  He had 69 receptions for 838 yards and six touchdowns last season.

Some speculation arose when Bryant appeared on this season of Hard Knocks with the Browns, and other teams were mentioned. Even Antonio brown tried to recruit Bryant on Twitter

But nothing panned out for the three-time Pro Bowler and until his workout with the Saints.

The Saints play at Dallas on November 29th. Throw up an X and get the popcorn ready.
