Raiders DE Bruce Irvin Focused on Making Babies, Not Losing
The Oakland Raiders were smoked by Seattle in London Sunday 27-3. Most members of the Raiders were dejected and embarrassed as they were about to board a painful 11-hour flight back home. But not defensive end Bruce Irvin. He had other things on his mind.
Some possible personal perspective from #Raiders DE Bruce Irvin? “We lost, but I’ve got a beautiful wife I get to go home to, boy. I’m going to try to make some babies, man.”

Now that’s you spin a negative into a positive. Irvin’s wife, who may soon be extra busy, is former collegiate tennis star Alyssa Hackworth-Irvin
Irvin had a monster year for the Raiders last season, his second in Oakland after beginning his career in Seattle in 2012. Irvin recorded eight sacks and was the team’s Walter Payton Man of the Year finalist. He’s also been a force this season, already collecting three sacks, but the startling, downward trajectory of the organization under Jon Grudem has clouded individual achievement. Today’s loss to Irvin’s former team was a particular low point.
But perhaps the Raiders woes will produce a silver lining: a few little Irvin babies roaming around.
