Bruce Arians hires two female coaches in Tampa
At last month’s NFL Scouting Combine, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians told TFG that he intended to create a coaching position designated for a woman. Arians feels the pool is deep enough and the only way to truly effect change to make the position permanent.
Arians is a man of word. Appearing on Fox Sports 910 in Phoenix, he announced Wednesday that he had hired not one, but two female coaches for his staff.
This two women are Lori Locust, the defensive line coach for the AAF’s Birmingham Fire and Maral Javadifar, a sports physical therapist based in Seattle.
Back in July 2015, Arians hired the first female coach in NFL history. Jen Welter spent that training coach as an intern focused on inside linebackers.
