Drew Brees Surprised with 40th Birthday Celebration
You only turn 40 once, and Drew Brees did it in style after the Saints defeated the Eagles to move on to the NFC Championship round. Brittany, Brees’ wife, pulled off the surprise on the decorated 18-year NFL QB. It was an early birthday party thrown at Port Orleans Brewery in New Orleans, and according to Brees his wife was successful, and it was a “total surprise.”
The party was decked out with ice sculptures, “40” hats and tumblers, a photo booth and a Superdome-shaped cake topped with a tiny goat. The guest list was extensive and included several teammates, coach Sean Payton, Keegan-Michael Key, and local rapper Choppa.
Brees also received a special message from Ellen DeGeneres, a New Orleans area native and Saints super fan. “You are kind, you are generous, you are such a great guy on and off the field,” DeGeneres said in the message. “I’m very grateful to call you my friend. I’m sending you all my love — happy birthday! I’ll see you after the Super Bowl, go Saints!”
Brees took to Twitter to thank his wife and note she “went above and beyond” for the party and his birthday.
