Chiefs Guard Jeff Allen Rewards Homeless Good Samaritan
It was a wintry Saturday in Kansas City, and Chiefs guard Jeff Allen got his car stuck in the snow on his way to Arrowhead Stadium for the most important game of his career. A selfless man named Dave stopped to help Allen get out on his way, a gesture Allen appreciated.
On Sunday Allen tweeted he wanted to give Dave tickets to the AFC Championship for his kindness but needed help finding the good Samaritan.
My car got stuck in the snow before the game & a nice guy named Dave help pull me out without knowing I was a player. I want to give him tickets to the AFC championship game for helping but don’t have a way to contact him. He drove a 97 or 98 Black Suburban. Pls RT #ChiefsKingdom

Twitter went to work and found Dave Cochran, a Kansas City resident who saw that Allen wasn’t accustomed to the snowfall.
“I was driving down [U.S.] 40 highway and saw a couple cars stuck,” Cochran told local news station KSHB. “I pulled one car out before that then I saw another car stuck and I told my old lady, ‘We have to help him. He isn’t used to this weather. He is from Texas.'” Cochran explained. “I went to help him then he told me he was a Chiefs player. I didn’t know. I looked at him as a normal person, and hoped he would do the same for me like I did for him.”
Cochran recently fell on hard times and has been living out of his car. The kindness Allen showed him by reaching out touched him deeply. “It’s like a dream come true,” he said. “I saw the message this morning, and I am not going to fake with you, call me soft if you want to homeboys, I started bawling. [Allen] is a man of his word and he reached out to contact me.”
KSHB was also touched by the gesture and has created a GoFund Me to help Jeff stop living out of car.
