Eric Reid pulls no punches in discussing Malcolm Jenkins, Players’ Coaltion
Last week Panthers safety Eric Reid instigated a widely viewed argument with Malcolm Jenkins, the Eagles safety who was once a colleague of Reid’s in the fight to eradicate societal inequality. After the game Reid called Jenkins a “sell out.”
Reid’s sentiment toward Jenkins continued when he was asked about the situation following the Panthers’ 36-21 thrashing of the Ravens. The entire video is a must watch and contains comments like [Jenkins] “made the decision to move forward and allow the NFL to hide behind his black face, as [Bills owner] Terry Pegula said to make a change to the anthem policy and force us to stand.” Reid also breaks down the flaws and anterior motives of the original $89 million agreement between the NFL and the Players’ Coalition.

Reid was originally part of the Coalition but split when the group, which also includes 49ers CB Richard Sherman, Texans CB Johnson Bademosi and Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin among others, moved forward with Jenkins as its leader, not Kaepernick. Reid has also taken issue with Jenkins and the Coalition moving away from Kaepernick’s unemployment as a key issue. There is even further disagreement in substance and in style.
After Reid expressed himself to reporters, he shared Kaepernick’s post of a video from his latest Know Your Rights Camp in Miami. Kaepernick and Reid have been hosting these camps for over a year to empower and equip underprivileged citizens with local resources and ancestry kits.
I’m so bummed that I couldn’t be there! The energy during Know Your Rights Camp is hard to explain. It’s so empowering!! https://t.co/lMqjeODvBN
