NFL owners considering 15-yard penalty for kneeling players
Not many tweets will actually make your jaw drop. Here’s an exception.
Per sources, one anthem idea being discussed: Leaving it up to home team on whether teams come out for the anthem; if teams do come out for the anthem, potential that teams could be assessed 15-yard penalties for kneeling.

This reads like something from The Onion but is, in fact, a bonafide idea the league decided to float into the cesspool of public opinion. While this proposal has as much chance of happening as Colin Kaepernick being signed, imagine the person tasked with uttering this silliness to Albert Breer.
NFL owners did spend a chunk of the first day of meetings discussing the anthem issue. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said: “We know our fans want us to zero in on the football.” While this is largely true, proposing solutions that are not unconstitutional would be a great start.
