Ryan Tannehill injures left knee at Dolphins practice
Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill left practice after his left knee buckled without any outside contact. The 29-year-old had to be helped off the field by trainers
Any non-contact injury of this ilk is alarming. For Tannehill it has the potential to be devastating. He was already donning a left knee brace after spraining ligaments in that knee that caused him to miss Miami’s final five games, including a postseason appearance.
Head coach Adam Gase is not scheduled to speak to the media today, so more information may not be imminent. But the mood around Dolphins camp is not exactly sunny.
I’m told the Dolphins are hoping for the best (obviously) after Tannehill is examined but same source tells me team fearing the worst.

One Dolphins player described the reaction when Ryan Tannehill went down as, “You could see everybody’s faces were like… f—. Not now.”

Miami has one of the more upper echelon backup quarterback’s in Matt Moore. In Tannehill’s absence last season, Moore threw eight touchdowns on three interceptions for a 105.6 passer rating.
Still, if Dolphins brass ultimately needs to add another arm, there’s a free agent quarterback out there you may have heard of.
