Hard Knocks to feature Los Angeles Rams AND Los Angeles Chargers

Nothing is typical this year in life and the NFL is no exception. Assuming there is an NFL season and training camp, HBO’s Hard Knocks will feature both Los Angeles teams as they prepare to move into their fancy news, SoFi Stadium.

“NFL Films cherishes the relationship we’ve had with HBO for over four decades, and specifically with the HARD KNOCKS franchise since 2001,” says NFL Films senior executive Ross Ketover. “To be able to announce this extension as we embark on an unprecedented two team series this summer brings us incredible pride and only heightens our excitement for the return of football.”

Both Los Angeles teams come with their own level of intrigue. Despite having the NFL’s best defensive player in Aaron Donald, the Rams lost a bit of their luster last season. The Chargers are clawing for relevance and handing the reins to Tyrod Taylor. Head Coach Anthony Lynn has also floated the possibility of adding Colin Kaepernick to its workout list.

Adding to the Hard Knocks drama this season will be a glimpse into the teams’ basic logistics as the threat of contracting COVID still reigns supreme.

Hard Knocks: Los Angeles debuts August 11th on HBO.
