Week 1: Eagles (-8.5) at Browns

Eagles (-8.5)
Last year they were the “Dream Team.” Yeah. The “Dream Team” that finished 8-8, and needed to win their last four just to post that record. They were overhyped and they underachieved. I think this is the year that the Eagles put it all together. That should be easy in Week 1 when they face the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are young (15 rookies and 11 second year players on their roster) and inexperience is a big obstacle, especially in the early weeks of the season. The Browns are coming off a season where they had one of the worst run defenses in the league and they are playing without several of their defensive starters this week due to injuries and suspensions (Fujita, Taylor, Gocong and possibly Haden). The Eagles should be able to move the ball at will. The Browns franchise traditionally doesn’t fare too well in Week 1 either. Cleveland has a 1-11-1 record against the spread (ATS) in their last thirteen Week 1 games.
