2012 NFL Week 2 Announcer Lineup (All times Eastern)
The great thing about this year’s NFL schedule is that there is guaranteed to be only two “off days” (Tuesday and Wednesday) between NFL weeks. Well, great for fans; horrible for players. Especially considering the last Monday night game was three days ago, this Thursday night game couldn’t come any faster. Good luck getting any work done, America.
Below is your slate of games, times, and announcer lineup for Week 2 of the 2012 NFL season.
Thursday, September 13 (NFL Network, 8:20pm)
Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers: Brad Nessler, Mike Mayock & Alex Flanagan
Notes:
-First regular season game for the NFL Network. I love Mayock and Nessler, but I’m cringing about having to listen to the buffoons (Irvin, Deion, Mooch) during the pre- and post-game. This is my least favorite studio show by far.
Sunday, September 16
1pm - CBS
Baltimore Ravens @ Philadelphia Eagles: Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars:
Marv Albert, Rich Gannon
Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins:
Kevin Harlan, Solomon Wilcots
Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals:
Bill Macatee, Steve Tasker
Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills:
Spero Dedes, Steve Beuerlein
1pm - FOX
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New York Giants: Joe Buck, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver
Minnesota Vikings @ Indianapolis Colts: Thom
Brennaman, Brian Billick & Laura Okmin
Arizona Cardinals @ New England Patriots:
Dick Stockton, John Lynch & Jennifer Hale
New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers:
Ron Pitts, Mike Martz
4:05pm - FOX
Dallas Cowboys @ Seattle Seahawks: Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, Tony Siragusa
Washington Redskins @ St. Louis Rams:
Chris Myers, Tim Ryan & Jaime Maggio
4:25pm - CBS
New York Jets @ Pittsburgh Steelers: Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
Tennessee Titans @ San Diego Chargers:
Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts
8:20pm - NBC
Detroit Lions @ San Francisco 49ers: Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth & Michelle Tafoya
Notes:
-A commenter wrote in last week to complaint that I was unduly harsh on the Fox crew, citing solid work from Tim Ryan and Brian Billick, among others. I completely agree with that assessment, but think the likes of Siragusa, Stockton, and Brennaman really do a disservice to the line-up, especially when you have people like Gus Johnson waiting in the wings.
-Take note that the Fox games start 20 minutes before the CBS games. I don’t understand; why didn’t they make all games at 4:25pm?
Monday, September 17 (ESPN, 8:30pm)
Denver Broncos @ Atlanta Falcons: Mike Tirico, Jon Gruden & Lisa Salters
Notes:
-Jon Gruden doing a Peyton Manning game? I think this calls for an All-Peyton “Positively Gruden” next week. I guarantee I’ll be able to compile at least 20 Grudenisms on Peyton during the game. Put it on the board.
