Jeff Hart: Wednesday Linkfest for September 28, 2011

The logo for 2014’s New Jersey – errr, I mean, New York – hosted Super Bowl was released yesterday. That ominous snowflake in the logo’s center has reinvigorated the discussion of how cold weather will ruin the weeks of partying and corporate whoring that lead up the Championship, just like visits to Minneapolis and Detroit ruined past years. No one wants to network while wearing a winter hat, ok?

After throwing as many interceptions against the Bills on Sunday as he threw all of last season, Tom Brady is now on pace to throw 26 INTs this year. At least, according to the statistics gathered by Cold Hard Football Facts, he is. I want to believe this so badly, but am a little put off by how heavily their predictions involve stats by Damon Huard and Seneca Wallace.

More fun with statistics: did you know the Cowboys have opened this season against four straight undefeated opponents? Check out Sports Delve to find out how often teams have opened their campaigns with gauntlets of unbeatens.

Also in Cowboys news, the team is claiming that the abundance of horrible snaps during Monday night’s game were a result of Redskins defensive linemen illegally mimicking Romo’s cadence. Former Cowboy DE Stephen Bowen may have helped his new Washington teammates learn Romo’s cadence. A day of linemen practicing their Romo impressions? Youtube, please.

Jason Taylor, finally allowed back inside after months of screaming professions of love through the pouring rain up at the windows of Dolphins fans, has declared that Chad Henne is more talented “physically” than Mark Sanchez. Taylor apparently doesn’t consider modeling work to be a physical talent.

Ever wonder just how bad Cincinnati Bengals fans have it? This article on a dying Cincinnatian should shed some light on their misery.

Last but certainly not least, check out the class and generosity shown by the Saints organization in honoring Steve Gleason, one of their former players, who is now battling Lou Gehrig’s disease. The picture alone – excuse me, I’ve got something in my eye.
