Jeff Hart: Wednesday Linkfest for October 5, 2011

It’s as if widespread attention for his stammering broadcast debut somehow reignited our country’s fascination with Brett Favre, because we now have our second story about the thrice-retired QB in as many days. During a radio show appearance, Favre wondered why it took Aaron Rodgers so long to win a Super Bowl, especially considering Favre declared last year’s Packers team the most talented he’d ever played on way back in 2007.
Also using a radio show to put a QB on blast? Chris Cooley. The Redskins TE gushed about how wonderful it was to watch Tony Romo choke on Sunday. He went on to jokingly ponder the results of a cage-fight with Romo. If the MMA-match Cooley is angling for doesn’t come together maybe he should consider challenging Romo to a pottery contest.

Is Joe Namath becoming an annoyance to the Jets? The iconic QB and reporter-molester has continued to criticize the Jets via Twitter, even after Rex Ryan politely invited Namath to watch practice a week ago. Thing is, Namath doesn’t really criticize the 2-2 team of underperforming loudmouths and pretty boys more than any other average fan. Keep at it, Joe!
In our last feud of this Linkfest, the people of St. Louis have declared that they’re fed up with their winless Rams and are turning off their TV sets. Television ratings in the St. Louis area are down 17% from last year. Is this better or worse than a blackout?
As bold predictions go, Tim Hightower claiming that the Redskins are headed to the Super Bowl is pretty freaking bold. I have a bold prediction of my own: the reemergence of Ryan Torain is going to totally screw over my fantasy team. Oh, and the Redskins lose in the first round of the playoffs.
The Superdome will soon be renamed the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Only nine stadiums remain without corporate sponsorship.
Is this the greatest dance for a TD that didn’t actually count so far this year? I think so.
