Jeff Hart: Wednesday Linkfest for November 23, 2011

Tim Tebow (have you heard of this guy?) responded to the Jake Plummer comments I discussed yesterday, politely answering Plummer’s criticism by explaining that he talks about Jesus so much because he loves Jesus SO MUCH. Tebow’s commitment to big-upping JC sounds exhausting, and his response encapsulates Plummer’s complaint. Can you imagine how long it’s going to take to say Grace in the Tebow house tomorrow?

A couple semi-notable feuds to report. First, there’s Josh Scobee and DeSean Jackson going at it on Twitter. Is there any way to come back from a kicker calling you “tiny”? I don’t think so.

Next, Raiders WR Chaz Schilens went at one-time Raider Warren Sapp for being really obnoxious all the time. Sapp came back hard at Schilens, mocking his career (or lack thereof) so far. This should serve as a reminder that there’s only one person allowed to talk smack to Warren Sapp.

Can’t we just be nice to each other, guys? It’s Thanksgiving! Let’s all relax and enjoy what is probably the best Thanksgiving game the NFL has scared up in a decade when the Lions take on the Packers. Ndamukong Suh is already doing his part, slaving away in the kitchen, cooking up some hype.

Speaking of hard-hitting defenders, here’s another article in what’s becoming an ongoing series dedicated to the ill-conceived and poorly enforced player safety standards that defenses are expected to abide by.

For fans of teams wallowing at the bottom of the league this season, be thankful that it only takes two years to rebuild a franchise. At least, according to a Colts fan, and considering very specific statistical evidence (like number of times your team drafted Peyton Manning).

For everyone else, just be thankful that your name isn’t Gerry Sandusky
