Jeff Hart: Wednesday Linkfest for May 30, 2012

After Eli Manning’s solid SNL performance last month, do you think Tom Brady decided it was time to shed his stuffy watch salesman fancy-pants image and demonstrate his totally not robotic comedic side? Is this Funny or Die video a desperate attempt to finally beat Elite Manning at… anything?
Well, it’s not great, but it is a first step toward accepting Tom Brady as a human being. He even backhands Tom Brady, which has always been something of a dream of mine. I wonder if Brady’s sugar-momma produced that spot. The number crunchers at Forbes revealed yesterday just how much more Gisele makes than her husband. Living the dream, Tom.
According to The Sporting News, Tom Coughlin is now the best coach in the league, better even than Bill Belichick (The Hoodie ranked #2). Sounds like New England’s going to have a lot to prove this season. Too bad we won’t be covering it, because all AFC East news must be Tim Tebow related.
Broncos WR Eric Decker said things have actually quieted down since Tebow’s departure to The Big Sin-Apple. Even though a Hall of Fame QB recovering from a serious neck injury is helming the ship, somehow the Broncos are now less interesting? Time for a serious self-evaluation, media.
Also in need of a hard look in the mirror? Terrell Owens. Doctor Phil’s favorite guest was fired by the Allen Wranglers yesterday after the publicity stunt they paid six figures for failed to show up for a scheduled appearance at a children’s hospital. Wranglers brass should’ve known that if you say the word “children” around Owens he just disappears.
As The Football Girl reported yesterday, the Miami Dolphins have agreed to be on Hard Knocks. They seem to be a strange fit for the show, what with their lack of big personalities and/or talent. At least they’ve got a bunch of players renowned for their relationships with attractive women. That’ll make for good HBO, right?
Finally, if your brain hasn’t rotted away from all these other links, here’s a history lesson on how the Dallas Cowboys became America’s team, because haven’t you always wondered?
