Jeff Hart: Wednesday Linkfest for February 8, 2012

By: Jeff Hart | Posted: February 08, 2012

By now I expected us to be off Super Bowl stories and back onto Peyton Manning speculation. However, it appears the internet is not quite done with the New England Patriots. What choice do I have but to repost this video of Rob Gronkowski dancing during the post-game LMFAO concert? Much respect for how heavily you’ve worked the crotch-chop into your dance routine, Gronk.

There’s also the “Bradying” fad sweeping across the internet, which should make happy those who always wanted to join in on the Tebowing fun but didn’t find it mean-spirited enough. Why do we need to take pictures of ourselves to make fun of Tom Brady? Doesn’t he do a bang-up job of that all by himself?

And then there’s the online pawnshop (because the world desperately needs one of those) that, in honor of Wes Welker, dropped 900 pounds of Butterfingers in Boston. That’s a great publicity stunt if you’re trying to sell candy bars. Not sure how it’s going raise awareness of your online “cash for used stereos” scam. But hey, heck of a burn, guys.

Not that the Patriots should care, but they even failed Sir Charles Barkley. He allegedly lost $100 grand betting on the Patriots.

At least there’s some good news coming out of New England. The Pats resigned Tiquan Underwood, who they cut on the eve of the Super Bowl. Underwood still gets paid his Super Bowl bonus money, but he got to watch all the anguished losing from the comfort of the team hotel. Good for him!

Anyway, if it seems like the media is piling on the Patriots, don’t worry. The parade is over and the Giants will be back under the microscope soon enough. In fact, here’s an article that wonders if Tom Coughlin should be considered a great coach, and another that stakes out the now unpopular opinion that Eli is not, in fact, elite.

Maybe we’ll talk about some other teams tomorrow.

If that company really wanted to make a statement, they'd have dropped Wes Welker's weight in Butterfingers bars. 900 pounds is just a random number.
