Jeff Hart: Tuesday Linkfest for September 20, 2011

It’s been reported that Peyton Manning received stem cell therapy in Europe prior his most recent neck surgery. While the therapy proved ineffective, this still opens up some interesting debate on when medical treatment becomes performance enhancing. As for the politics of stem cells, as Manning used his own cells, his donations to numerous anti-progress Republicans should not be considered hypocritical.

Oh, by the way, Jeff George is available and in playing shape.

Speaking of stem cells, John Fox made sure those loudmouth Broncos fans got their money’s worth for that billboard on Sunday when he plopped Tim Tebow into the game at WR. Maybe instead of the “black Wes Welker,” Nate Burleson should aspire to be the “black Tim Tebow.” Seems easier.

There’s a man impersonating Vince Young in the Washington DC area. Apparently, our con artist has been using his resemblance to the Eagles third stringer to take pictures with fans (for which he accepts payment) and, presumably, to pick up chicks with lines about how their hotness compares to his Wonderlic score.

In the latest disturbing evidence that the Ryan brothers have healthy sexual appetites, there was a bikini model on Rob Ryan’s play calling sheet.

Do you live in San Diego? If so, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it turns out that you’re living in the city with the longest active sports losing streak. Finally, Buffalo and Cleveland have a reason to celebrate! Stay crappy, San Diego.

Lastly, here’s a sad story from Darnell Dockett, a player that I’ve come to like largely because of his outspoken antics on Twitter. It’s a different side of the usually boisterous Dockett and it plucks at my heart strings more than these ESPN pieces usually do thanks to its frankness.
