Jeff Hart: Tuesday Linkfest for November 8, 2011

Well, here’s the first viral dramatization of Tebowing. Thanks, Sweater Punch.
I’m not sure whether the video is supposed to be funny, or inspirational, or a Christian-rock-style combination of the two. My only takeaway here is that Tebowing in times of great duress will give you mutant God-powers. If I ever go missing from Linkfest, it’s probably because I tried this.
Need a good excuse to explain distracted play in a MNF loss to the Bears? How about some lady shopping around your nude pictures? How much would you pay for a peek at Michael Vick’s doberman? Five dollars? TEN DOLLARS?
We’re approaching the homestretch of the fantasy season so, if you haven’t given up, you might want to head over to Razzball for some waiver wire advice.
We had some record-setting performances and statistical anomalies over the weekend. First, the good - although if you’re a Packers fan you don’t really need anything more to be happy about. The team’s current win streak of 14, while not yet the longest in NFL history, is the longest win streak for a team that’s never trailed in the 4th quarter. Meanwhile, in what might seem like piling on, the Chiefs became only the third team in NFL history to lose to a winless team by 28 points or more, and the third team in history to lose to a winless team when riding a four game winning streak. Welcome to the record books, Kansas City!
It’s time for our monthly segment: Mike Pereira Says Something Dumb! Previously, Pereira made a false correlation between pass attempts and roughing the passer penalties. This month, once again backing up the fraternity of shoddy refereeing, Pereira made a nonsensical dig at 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh’s age, which actually only reinforces Harbaugh’s complaints about young coaches not getting respect. Nice work, as usual, Mike.
I hold this item for last only because it seems frivolous to make Tebow and Vick jokes after reading it, but everyone should head over to The Big Lead and read Tyler Duffy’s piece on why Joe Paterno needs to resign.
