Jeff Hart: Tuesday Linkfest for May 15, 2012

Enjoy this video of the Jacksonville Jaguars mascot Jaxson De Ville hitting a shot to the green in full costume.

The audio on that clips is sort of spotty, so here’s a transcript of the overheard conversation between two Florida locals.

FLORIDIAN #1:  Why is that guy in a Cheetos costume?

FLORIDIAN #2:  That’s the Jaguars’ mascot. You know… football?

FLORIDIAN #1:  We have a football team?!

Chad Ochocinco has been receiving an odd amount of praise for his open letter to Roger Goodell in which he suggests player safety is simply a PR problem. Everything could be fixed, argues Ocho, if the NFL just rebranded itself from a sporting event to a dangerous thing people do for money. I wonder if any other NFL players have helpful suggestions.

The never ending deconstruction of the Jets 2011 campaign continues with Darrelle Revis saying Rex Ryan “faded” a bit down the stretch. Can’t you guys just work this out on Hard Knocks?

Who are the 32 NFL players poised for breakout seasons in 2012? FOX Sports has some guesses. Surprisingly, FOX doesn’t give any love to Donovan McNabb who has recently shed 20 pounds so that potential suitors won’t be turned off by his misperceived fatness. Just his oldness and general toxicity.

I highly recommend checking out Dan Cuison’s Pro Football Halftime Activity Book. There are some amazing gags in there – as well as some soothing coloring opportunities – even if the Norwood bit did re-break my heart.

And finally, if you’ve ever wondered what the most important ingredients to a quarterback/center relationship are, wonder no more. Aaron Rodgers makes it clear that the only thing more important than butt height is rump dryness. Really though, aren’t those the keys to any solid relationship, football or otherwise?
