Jeff Hart: Tuesday Linkfest for December 20, 2011

I’m a little disappointed that I’m only now discovering this clip of Deion Sanders: Hard Journalist. In my defense, was anyone really tuned into a Saturday night Buccaneers/Cowboys game on the NFL Network, much less the post-game show? I just assumed those teams had a weird late season bye this week. Anyway, with this bizarre line of questioning, it’s almost as if Primetime wanted to help the internet continue to mock Tony Romo.

Who’s excited for some Minnesota Vikings news?! First, Visanthe Shiancoe accused some of his teammates of quitting during Sunday’s game against the Saints. Can you really blame them?

Meanwhile, piggybacking on Nate Washington’s accusations from last week, Adrian Peterson called the Saints a dirty team, once again singling out members of the New Orleans secondary. Could it be that behind the aw-shucks veneer of their beloved Nyquil guzzling quarterback there lurks a sinister New Orleans defense of ankle-twisting Suh wannabes? I’m hoping yes.

Following their startling loss to the Chiefs, the Packers odds to win the Super Bowl have gone from 1.4-1 to 1.45-1. Get your money down on that long shot now!

Also, in case you’re still keeping an eye on that Texans tattoo guy (and believe me, I am), the Texans odds are currently rated at 17.5-1.

For Raiders fans, here’s a fun article wherein Hue Jackson tries to justify his MLB covering Calvin Johnson 40 yards down the field. It’s not the game plan, it’s the execution!

Also in the AFC West, Philip Rivers argues that it’d be crazy to fire Norv Turner. Will Rivers’ late season heroics be enough to save Turner’s job yet again? Isn’t this a repeat from last season, and the one before that, and…?

Finally, this piece on concussions in the NFL and the difficult crossfire of expectations that players face as a result is absolutely a must-read. Just don’t expect to feel good about being an NFL fan afterward.
