Jeff Hart: Tuesday Linkfest for April 3, 2012

By: Jeff Hart | Posted: April 03, 2012

In a story that clearly means yesterday was a slow news day without much Linkfest material, Broncos WR Eric Decker and country music singer Jessie James became engaged over the weekend. Good for them. Do you enjoy looking at pictures of happy attractive people? Here you go.

Former Bronco and promise-ring rocking Tim Tebow is currently the subject of a trademark lawsuit between a number of greedy New Yorkers looking to cash-in on “Tim-Sanity.” Clearly, the trademark applicants have no idea how a good name pun works. You can’t just trade “Lin” for “Tim.” What about Timmaculate? Someone pay me for that.

Here’s The Lions in Winter waxing on how, following some dark times, it’s once again fun to observe the NFL draft as a Lions fan. Also, for non-Lions fans, after years of there being no Charles Rogers equivalent it’s finally fun to watch the Lions’ off-field antics again. Especially when dudes are scarfing down baggies of pot during traffic stops.

Interested in pouring over some obscure stats from last season? Football Outsiders has a trio of charts to breakdown who were the poorest performing CBs last season. Cowboys fans might want to avoid this one as it appears we’ve reached the tipping point on Terrence Newman.

Using a ton of rhetorical questions (my favorite writing device – or is it?), former Chicago Bear Desmond Clark weighed in on why the Bears should give Matt Forte a new contract. I hope Forte begins his hold out soon; this offseason could use some good RB drama. Enough about these overpaid QBs already.

Speaking of which, there’s talk that the Colts haven’t totally made up their mind on Andrew Luck and might still consider drafting Robert Griffin. Luckily for the Colts, I don’t really think there’s a wrong choice here. At least, there’s definitely no Ryan Leaf
