Jeff Hart: Tuesday Linkfest for April 17, 2012

Let’s begin with this perfectly timed video of Stevie Johnson freaking out some retail shoppers by repeatedly dropping a toy baby. Also worth noting is that Stevie and I have the same taste in hats.

Speaking of practical jokes, Denver stud DE Von Miller predicted that Tim Tebow could be this season’s starter for the New York Jets. The joke here is that, either way, the Jets end up with a mediocre QB that won’t help them win games. The real question isn’t who starts, but who Santonio Holmes strangles first.

In other troubling QB news, there are rumors that the Eagles might not be committed to Michael Vick as their long term QB. Shouldn’t it go without saying that the 31 year-old scrambling QB with a history of injuries might not be the most viable long term option?

The Raiders finally joined the rest of the NFL by building themselves an official draft war room. It won’t see a lot of use this year, unless it comes equipped with a time machine to reverse that Carson Palmer trade.

Drew Brees told the NFL Network that the league has yet to provide “any meaningful evidence” of a bounty system. The mind boggles that Brees is allowed anywhere near the negotiations between the league and the NFLPA. He clearly has an agenda that isn’t player safety. Do they make a Vix Vaporub for persistent cases of denial?

Can’t get enough NFL-related litigation? Here’s a primer on all the concussion related lawsuits currently underway. Better read up on them now before Judge Brees has them dismissed.

NFL stadiums are instituting a policy where fans that are kicked out of games for being drunk and disorderly will have to pay for ($70) and pass a four-hour online course on not behaving like a drunken lunatic. Really glad they didn’t have this back in those halcyon days when I possessed Bills season tickets, a funnel, and just a ton of loud and nonsensical Ron Mexico jokes.
