Jeff Hart: Friday Linkfest for June 29, 2012

With this being a particularly slow week for NFL news, the biggest story we’ve got right now is probably Aaron Rodgers taking the #1 spot in the endlessly pointless NFL Top 100. If you really want to, you can learn the reason why the record-setting MVP was ranked #1.

Or, you can watch fellow Green Bay Packer AJ Hawk dump some dude into a pond during a pick-up game on a golf course:

I doubt Hawk’s opponent suffered any lasting damage from his trip into the drink. However, if he finds himself with persistent aches and pains or hydrophobia in the next couple weeks, he should consider taking Hawk to court. Might I suggest a judge?

Yes, to further underscore the torpor of this news week, I’m finally getting around to posting an episode of Judge Sapp. My major complaint? Without a doubt, this has to be the most underutilized Courtroom DJ in the history of Courtroom DJs. If you’re going to have a DJ on hand, he should be playing sound effects pretty much constantly.

There’s news happening in other sports. For instance, the NBA draft happened last night and yet, for some reason, unibrows still aren’t fashionable. Here’s an interesting piece comparing the NBA and NFL draft talent pools. They’re almost exactly the same if you do a lot of crazy math!

Late game kickoffs of nationally televised games have been pushed back 10 minutes which might still not be enough for Robert Kraft. In a move distinctly unpatriotic, Kraft is pushing for a European franchise within the next 10 years. I’m still waiting for just one argument that makes overseas expansion seem like even a halfway decent idea.

And finally, we can at last end the debate of whether or not the Jets bringing in Tim Tebow was a boneheaded maneuver. Jim Kelly has spoken.
