Most Bizarre Development Of The 2013 Offseason To Date: Rob Gronkowski Offered Adult Film Role

The New England Patriots have extended one measure of patience after another toward their star tight end / resident party boy Rob Gronkowski, but I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess that a line might be drawn after Gronkowski's latest tabloid appearance.
According to the New York Post, Sex.com has offered Gronkowski $3.75 million (equvalent to his 2013 base salary) to appear in a sex scene with adult film star Bibi Jones. Gronkowski and Jones (née Britney Maclin) have already generated headlines after racy photographs of the pair surfaced on Jones' Twitter account, so it appears as though Sex.com is interested in capitalizing on the duo's notoriety. The adult website released the following via CBS.com:
"There is no question that Rob Gronkowski has what it takes to make an excellent male performer in today's adult industry. He has proven both on and off the field that he has the body and the attitude to be a hugely popular male adult star."
ESPN's Darren Rovell had a fascinating take on the offer, tweeting:
THE @nypost says Rob Gronkowski has been offered $3.75M to star in porn film. Ron Jeremy made a reported total of $5.5M for 2,000 films.
I'm not sure which portion of that tweet I find most disturbing. But one thing's for sure: if there's ever been an instance that more pressingly calls for a "don't quit your day job" response, I can't think of it. Gronkowski has made no public response to the offer (thankfully). Here's hoping the tight end spends about as much time considering the offer as he does with his shirt on in a Las Vegas night club.
