New England Adds TE Visanthe Shiancoe to Their Repertoire

Five tight ends were apparently not enough for the New England Patriots as they added free agent Visanthe Shiancoe to their repertoire last night.
Shiancoe’s deal is for one-year and reportedly worth $1.2 million, although the majority of the contract is incentive-laden.
The tight end had played for Minnesota the past five seasons, the most productive of which was 2009 when he caught eleven touchdowns from Brett Favre. Shiancoe is most notorious for inadvertently exposing his privates on national television when FOX aired then-head coach Brad Childress’ locker room speech following a victory against Detroit.
Back to the Patriots, who already have Aaron Hernandez, Daniel Fells, Jake Ballard, rookie Tyler Urban and some guy named Gronkowski on their roster. Both Fells and Ballard are on the active/physically unable to perform list t start training camp.
I, for one, hope and expect to see all kinds of interesting three tight end packages. (That didn’t come out right, did it?)
