NFL Training Camp Roundup for August 20th

Arizona Cardinals

OT Levi Brown tore his tricep muscle in Friday’s game against the Raiders and will likely miss the season. The dire prognosis for the five-year starter was revealed by Ken Whisenhunt Sunday.

Detroit Lions

RB Mikel Leshoure participated in practice yesterday for the first time since the second day of training camp. He has been battling a hamstring injury.

Indianapolis Colts

WR Austin Collie left last night’s game against the Steelers with a possible concussion. Collie has a history of concussions – he missed seven games in 2010 after suffering two concussions – and will be monitored closely.

Kansas City Chiefs

Safety Kendrick Lewis will  miss “a bit of time” due to a shoulder injury he suffered in Saturday night’s game against the Rams. While Romeo Crennel was not specific about Lewis’s prognosis he did say he doesn’t expect the starter to begin the season on the PUP list.

New York Giants

On Saturday a video leaked of DE Jason Pierre-Paul carrying CB Prince Amukamara out of the locker room and dunking him in a tank.  Amukamara did not seem pleased.  Other players urged him to stand up for himself.  Pierre-Paul was uttering profanities.  It was strange video, one the league is calling a “club matter.”

San Diego Chargers

This has been a pretty disastrous preseason for the Chargers’ playmakers. First, Ryan Mathews broke his clavicle bone. Now WR Vincent Brown, who broke his left ankle in Saturday night’s game against the Cowboys, will be sidelined at least eight weeks.

San Francisco 49ers

The Niners got good news on RB Brandon Jacobs when the MRI on his left knee revealed no structural damage. No timetable has been set for his return.

San Francisco 49ers

Jim Harbaugh who spent much of Saturday’s game screaming at the replacement refs said postgame that he had a headache. He speculated that some of the officiating was inaccurate citing some “crazy, wild calls.”  Harbaugh should be expecting a friendly call from the league.

Washington Redskins

LB Brian Orakpo grabbed his left arm during a play in Saturday’s game at Chicago, but an MRI revealed no serious damage. Orakpo is expected to be ready for the regular season.
