Arizona Cardinals

RB Ryan Williams says he’ll be ready for the season opener after coming back from rupturing his patella tendon 11 months ago.  However, Williams and the team are taking a cautious approach. If healthy, the second-year back, along with starter Beanie Wells, could provide Arizona with a powerful one-two punch.

Buffalo Bills

Take a deep breath, Harvard. Backup QBs Vince Young and Tyler Thigpen are struggling in their competition for the backup job, and neither is performing anywhere near the level of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Chicago Bears

The Bears are reportedly not any closer to selecting their starting left tackle, the only position really up for grabs. The contenders: J’Marcus Webb and Chris Williams.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Guard Will Rackley suffered an ankle injury during yesterday’s practice. The full extent of the injury should be known today. Rackley started 14 games last season.

Minnesota Vikings

Owner Zygi Wilf expects the Vikings to be NFC North champions. In other news, Vikings owner Zygi Wilf believes the NFC North is a one-team division.

New Orleans Saints

LB Scott Shanle blasted 49ers safety Donte Whitner after Whitner said that teams with good defenses don’t need bounties. Shanle’s response via Twitter: "Guy needs to shut his mouth and mind his own business. Don't remember them winning the superbowl. U still ringless. We got one and working on two now. Try to keep up."

Oakland Raiders

QB Carson Palmer received heat last season for being slow, among other issues. Now he is working on his footwork in hopes of transforming from a “classic drop-back, downfield passer into a nimble operator of bootlegs and rollouts.”

San Diego Chargers

RB Ryan Mathews suffered minor injuries in a two-car crash Monday night. Mathews was taken to a local hospital to be examined and did not practice yesterday.  There were no signs of drugs or alcohol, a question we now have to consider for any NFL player in a car accident.

Tennessee Titans

The team reached agreement with rookie WR Kendall Wright, signing him to a four-year, $8.2 million deal. Titans coaches expect Wright to have an immediate impact.
