Chicago Bears
LB Brian Urlacher has made his way back to practice after resting his sore knee and dealing with a subsequent undisclosed personal issue. Urlacher will not play in this week’s game against the Redskins, but did vow to be ready for the team’s September 9th opener.
Cincinnati Bengals
Bad news for the Bengals as DE Carlos Dunlap will “miss at least four weeks,” according to Marvin Lewis. Dunlap sprained his right knee in Friday’s season-opener against the Jets.
Green Bay Packers
WR Greg Jennings has been sidelined for the past ten days after suffering a concussion, and Mike McCarthy admits he’s not sure when a return is expected. Concussion recovery is hard to predict. Even with the more stringent tests in place, we’ve seen guys come back in one week, but we’ve also seen Lions RB Jahvid Best miss most of last season.
Miami Dolphins
WR Chad Johnson was released one day after being arrested for domestic battery. Johnson was apparently on a “one strike” leash with the team.
Pittsburgh Steelers
WR Antonio Brown and CB Ike Taylor got into an altercation after practice Sunday. It was their second fight of training camp. Taylor walked off the field with an ice pack but neither player is believed to be injured, at least not physically.
San Diego Chargers
RB Ryan Mathews, who suffered a broken clavicle, plans to be ready for the team’s season opener. Hopefully his bone will cooperate.
San Francisco 49ers
Jim Harbaugh won a stare-down with an approaching fan at Sunday’s Fan Fest. As LT Joe Staley described it, “Harbaugh made him withdraw with his Chuck Norris eyes.”
