Doug Baldwin on TNF after Sunday games: ‘This shit should be illegal’

After a rash of injuries, including a torn Achilles’ heel that will sideline Richard Sherman for the season, Doug Baldwin made his feelings known about playing a Thursday Night Football game four days after the previous game.

In addition to Sherman’s dramatic injury, LT Duane Brown sprained his ankle in his second game as a Seahawk. RB C.J Prosise also sprained an ankle upon returning to the field after his other ankle had finally healed up.

Others injured Seahawks include: DT Jarran Reed (hamstring) and LB Michael Wilhoite (calf), DT Sheldon Richardson and DE Frank Clark (thigh). Only Richardson returned to the game.

Arizona also suffered major injuries. Bruce Arians believes that LT D.J. Humphries may have torn his ACL, while safety Tyvon Branch suffered a serious knee injury. It’s likely both will be lost for the season.

The Seahawks won 22-16 to keep the battle for the NFC West one of the league’s most interesting races but the bloodbath endured by both teams permeated the night. A night that Baldwin believes should never have happened in the first place. He’s not alone.
