Every morning we serve up prime cuts of NFL players, because we believe in gender equality for all things including clickbait. It takes some joy out of the DCOM when the top NFL story is about a player getting his right index finger amputated.  And we’re simply not going there with Jason Pierre-Paul, Ronnie Lott, or any other player who may have lost a body part.  DCOM is about celebrating the human form, not knocking it down. Fortunately, there’s another (ex) New York Giant who can take our mind away the harsh realities of life, and its temptation to engage…

Every morning we serve up prime cuts of NFL players because we believe in gender equality for all things, including clickbait.  Today’s cut is Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant. Bryant in the midst of intense contract negotiations for a long-term deal and no doubt, has the Cowboys by the balls. Everything really is bigger in Texas! Though judging by that stomach, we’re not sure Bryant has enough money right now to buy food.  So hurry up and pay the man, Jerry! Be sure to check back tomorrow morning for our latest cut!  And if you have any nominations for…

Every morning we serve up prime cuts of NFL players, because we believe in gender equality in all things including clickbait.  Today’s Daily Cut of Meat is Seahawks QB (for now), Russell Wilson, whose interview with a San Diego pastor created quite a stir on social media yesterday afternoon. Wilson is a well-known man of faith, though an even more well-known boyfriend to singer, Ciara. In the interview, Wilson revealed that “God spoke to me” and prompted Wilson to suggest the two abstain from sex or, in Wilson’s words, “did it Jesus’ way.” It’s a deeply probing and thoughtful interview on…

Every morning we serve up prime cuts of NFL players, because we believe in gender equality for all things including clickbait. Today’s DCOM is Giants wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham graced the red carpet at Wednesday night’s ESPYs awards with his patented colorful style. Not surprising, though, that Beckham looks even better with his clothes off. The great thing about Beckham is he can do things with one hand better than most men can with two. Be sure to check back Monday morning for our latest cut!  And if you have any nominations for future cuts, please tweet them…

Life is suddenly tough for NFL fans. The wild weeks that kicked off free agency are dying down. Peyton Manning picked his team. And, in case you hadn’t heard, Tim Tebow’s fate has been decided. Sure we had the Scouting Combine in February and the draft is coming up next month in April, but opening night for the NFL isn’t until September 6.  For now, Sundays drag on forever with no games to watch and I no longer have an excuse to eat chicken wings and drink beer after church. Sunday nights are especially difficult without my friends at the…

After a season of diligent preparation and strategy, the Indianapolis Colts are leaving Lucas Oil corporate HQ in their final big push of the year to take Super Bowl 44.  Having spent the last few years after their last Super Bowl win restructuring and reevaluating objectives, Colts, Inc., lead by #18, appears primed to not only wipe out America’s sweetheart team, but maybe even take over the world. Peyton Manning possesses all the key characteristics of an industry titan: 1.  He comes from good genetic stock for his line of work. Sure, there may be some inbreeding, but what dynasty…

Ten months ago we first chronicled how the UFL, which began in 2009, was hanging on by a thread.  Since then, things have become dramatically worse to the point that if the league were to ever play another game, it would be a stunner. After suspending operations in 2011, the league came back for another season in 2012 hopeful for a resurrection based on a contract with CBS Sports Network.  While the returning players and staff carried embedded skepticism from a series of delayed payments in 2011, they had faith that Bill Hambrecht, (a financier who founded the league); along…

The spotlight is shining bright on the New York Jets this week as they prepare to face the Colts on Sunday.  As if their presence in the Conference Championship wasn’t surprise enough, all the media attention has revealed an even stranger aspect underlying Gang Green’s inner machinations – namely, the seeming second coming of Derek Zoolander (hereafter DZ) in the form of rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez. What?!? Yes, it’s true. Marky Mark Sanchez, Derek Zoolander, Sexy Rexy, and Mugatu – bound by a mysterious, cosmic connection of hotness and manipulation thereof. 1. Consider his relationship to Rex Ryan.  At the…

Are you tired of how some girlfriends perceive you as ‘one of the boys’ when you are really just a girl who loves football? Do you notice that look you get from them like you’re a freak of nature when you enthusiastically talk about the start of the football season? Or that glazed look as you try to explain the difference between offensive pass interference and an illegal block? I feel you. I figured if I wanted to keep my friends in the fall, while still watching football, I needed to explain the sport in a way that might appeal…

Super Bowl Sunday will inspire 7.5 million home parties and 43.9 million partygoers, according to the National Retail Foundation. Hallmark says it is the top occasion for parties at home, even topping New Year’s Eve. Based on those statistics alone, there’s a 1 in 7 chance you’ll be heading to someone’s house this Sunday, if not hosting an event yourself. With that in mind, I’d like to make a couple suggestions to help make your party extra memorable (or cement yourself as the best party guest ever). Green Apple Guacamole: I’ve brought this crisp, refreshing dip to just about every…
