Bears fumble in plea to impress Oscars star, Gary from Chicago

Gary from Chicago stole the show at the Oscars Sunday. (At least until the end.)  As a reminder, Gary from the Chicago is the charming bus tour customer who bantered with Jimmy Kimmel and was married by Denzel Washington, all during a live broadcast stunt. Gary from Chicago was an instant internet phenomenon. Gary from Chicago was everyone.  Naturally, Chicago’s sports teams wanted to ride the Gary from Chicago train of instant celebrity. The Bulls made a respectable opening offer.

Then came the Bears, owned by the notoriously cheap McCaskey family. But surely they’d offer Gary from Chicago something in the ballpark of their basketball brethren. Uh, no.

This Bears phone case retails for a whopping $25. Did someone in Bears social media tweet the wrong prize?
